How that compares
Treasury’s impact analysis for mandatory climate reporting estimated first-year scenario analysis alone at about A$196,000 for a Group 2 entity and A$245,000 for a Group 1 entity, and about A$45,000 for a Group 3 entity’s entire first year of climate reporting. Meridian delivers the quantification work - scenario analysis, risk and opportunity figures and the evidence behind them - for a fraction of that, because it is software, not hours.
Questions
- What is an annual analysis?
- One entity's AASB S2 climate risk quantification for one reporting period. Re-run it as often as you need while you prepare that period's disclosure.
- How are assets counted?
- Each row in your asset register counts once. Group similar sites into one row (for example "120 stores × average value") - AASB S2 allows this where itemising would involve undue cost or effort, and it keeps most mid-market companies on Small or Medium.
- Which plan fits my company?
- Plans follow the size of your asset register. As a guide, Group 3 entities usually fit Small, Group 2 entities Medium, and larger registers Large. Financial institutions analysing lending or investment books need Enterprise.
- Do we still need our auditor?
- Yes - your sustainability report is assured by your own auditor under ASSA 5000. Meridian's methodology and controls are to be independently reviewed (service report in progress) so your auditor can rely on the engine rather than re-test it, and every figure carries its source and review trail to keep that work short.
- Do we need a consultant?
- No. Meridian is built to run inside your own reporting process: you enter your company, assets and scenarios, review the suggested risks, and sign off. Your team stays in control of every judgment.
- Are prices inclusive of GST?
- No - prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST.
