Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets out conduct that is prohibited when using Meridian. It forms part of, and uses the defined terms in, our Terms of Use. It applies to every user and to anything done under your account or API keys.

1. Permitted use

You may use the Service for your organisation’s internal business purposes - quantifying climate risk and preparing climate-related disclosures - in line with the Terms of Use.

2. Protecting the methodology

You must not:

  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive or reconstruct the Service’s source code, models, calibration tables, coefficients or methodology, except to the limited extent the law prohibits this restriction;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to extract or systematically retrieve content, parameters, multipliers, coefficients or benchmarks from the Service; or
  • use the Service, its outputs or any Confidential Information to build, train or improve a competing product or model, or for competitive benchmarking.

3. Accounts, credentials and API keys

You must not:

  • share logins, allow others to use your account, or use another user’s account;
  • disclose API keys or let them be used outside your organisation; you are responsible for all activity under your keys; or
  • exceed published rate limits or otherwise abuse programmatic access.

4. Security and integrity

You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other customers’ data, or our systems, or circumvent tenancy isolation, authentication or other security controls;
  • probe, scan or penetration-test the Service without our prior written consent;
  • introduce malware, or interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; or
  • access the Service to monitor its availability or performance for a competing purpose.

5. Content and lawful use

You must not:

  • upload or process data or documents you do not have the right to provide, or that infringe a third party’s intellectual property, privacy or confidentiality;
  • upload unlawful, harmful or malicious content; or
  • misrepresent the Service’s outputs - for example presenting them as audited or assured, or as financial, legal or accounting advice - or remove confidentiality or attribution notices.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected breaches and may suspend or terminate access for conduct that breaches this AUP or the Terms of Use, or to protect the Service or other customers. To report misuse, contact hello@sprout.enterprises.
